The Seventeenth Amendment to the United States Constitution established direct election of United States Senators by popular vote. This is how all our favorite senators become elected.
Oo our senate would be much more interesting if they debated like that.
Those senators are terrible, and I hope they aren't reelected for future terms.

Don't we love taxes?
The 16th amendment brings us the oh so wonderful right to be taxed. The I.R.S. gets to audit people each year thanks to this fantastic amendment.
That is some beautiful propaganda there by our government during World War 2. I bet that cartoon got many an american to want to pay their income tax.
Tax man Max sure makes me want to pay my taxes. What an educational way to teach children about the joys of taxes.

Let my people vote!
Section 1 of 15th Amendment: The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
Section 2: The Congress shall have power to enforce this article by appropriate legislation.
I wonder if they were making sure people voted for Obama?
Nice try McCain, even with a rigged machine you still lost.

What about my citizenship?
The 14th amendment made freed slaves citizens of the United States, thus guaranteeing them more rights than previously had, except the right to vote.
This video is interesting because the narrator talks about how the United States isn't a real country, but a collectively of states, hence our name. Its interesting given that Texas and other larger states consider themselves countries already so hopefully not too many watch this video.
I think the sad thing about this video is that a good number of American citizens wouldn't pass this test, so I could only imagine a foreigner attempting it.

Free at last, free at last, thank God almighty, we are free at last!
The 13th amendment of the constitution freed my people from slavery.
Freedom wasn't quite like that, but I like Dave Chappelle's reimagining.
Like Moses said, let my people go!

Wait who voted for Bush?
Our 12th amendment outlies how the President and Vice President are elected. The video below shows a good reason why Bush was elected in 2004.
Those poor Canadians better watchout, if Jeb is ever elected then he'll finish what his brother wanted to start.
Oo Palin is fiesty, no wonder those tea partiers are so behind her.

I can't sue Arizona?
The Judicial power of the United States shall not be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity, commenced or prosecuted against one of the United States by Citizens of another State, or by Citizens or Subjects of any Foreign State. According to this amendment states have sovereign immunity so unfortunately we can't sue a state like Arizona for the immigration law.
I suppose since I can't sue Arizona they'll just have to settle for a fist in the air.
I support their suit, but they won't win because it'd be unconstitutional to allow their suits to be heard.
